(18Z TAFS) Issued at 241 PM CDT Mon Oct 7 2024 VFR conditions will persist through the forecast with east- northeasterly winds around 10 knots. Winds will relax during the overnight hours. DS/12 && .NEAR TERM... (Now through Tuesday) Issued at 241 PM CDT Mon Oct 7 2024 A subtle re-enforcing front will move through the area this afternoon bringing lower dewpoints across the area. Outside of maybe one or two isolated showers this afternoon along the front we should remain rain free. With a tightening pressure gradient across our marine waters, increased winds have led to increased surf heights and a HIGH risk of rip currents remains in effect. This will likely persist through the week as Hurricane Milton moves east across the far southern Gulf. This will be the only impact we are expecting from Milton. With the reinforcing front and lower dewpoints, we expect lows tonight to dip into the mid to upper 50s over the northern third of our forecast area, low to mid 60s further south toward the coast, and then lower 70s along the immediate coast. Highs on Tuesday look for highs to be in the low to mid 80s inland, upper 80s along the I-10 corridor and mid 80s along the immediate coast. DS/12 && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
