Front is through the area with clearing skies this afternoon. A
little cool today as temps are around 10 degrees below average. 
With continued clearing and drier air filtering into the region, 
expect temps in the 40s along/north of I-10. A couple of isolated
locations around AEX could even flirt with the upper 30s.

Our afternoon temps in the 60s will be short lived as highs are 
back into the lower 70s on Monday and mid/upper 70s by Tuesday. 
The weather will remain dry as high pressure builds across the 
region.

Little change in forecast philosophy through the extended period in 
this package. High pressure extending from the Eastern Gulf of 
Mexico into the Bahamas will maintain south southeasterly winds 
through the second half of the week and weekend. These winds will 
increase beginning Thursday and remain elevated through the weekend 
in response to the proximity of a couple of frontal boundaries. The 
first will stall somewhere across Northeastern Texas and Northern 
Louisiana Thursday with the second approaching from central Texas 
late Friday. Broad upper level ridging extending from Mexico across 
much of the western and central gulf will hold any appreciable 
precipitation chances at bay although the moisture accompanying the 
front will likely yield some increased cloud cover. The increasing 
tropical moisture and ridging aloft will push afternoon highs into 
the mid to upper 80s by the weekend with overnight lows struggling 
to fall out of the 70s in an early taste of summer.

At the most, we have sparse mid level decks that are slowly
filtering out as drier and cooler air fills in. Skies will
continually clear out and winds will taper this evening as the 
high pressure builds into the area. We will see winds shift out of
the northeast then east from tomorrow afternoon to the end of this
period, but remain fairly light.

Small craft advisories remain in effect for lakes/bays until 7 PM
and through early Monday for near/offshore waters. Strong and 
gusty offshore flow and very rough seas continue. 

Winds will shift more northeasterly through early Monday, and
should diminish by early afternoon. Onshore flow will redevelop 
by Tuesday as surface high pressure moves over the eastern 
seaboard, with southerly winds expected to continue through the
week.
