...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 AM HST WEDNESDAY FOR THE 
ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.

* WHEN...Until 215 AM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 
  streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1115 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the Maui
    central valley as well as southwest slopes of Haleakala, with
    the heaviest rain falling over and upslope of Kihei. Rain was
    falling at a rate of 1 to 1.5 inches per hour.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Kahului, Kihei, Keokea, Kula, Ulupalakua, Wailea, Pukalani,
    Makena, Makawao, Kaupo, Kipahulu, Puunene, Maalaea, Hana,
    Haleakala National Park and Hamoa.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 
to flooding.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on 
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 215 AM HST if flooding 
persists.
