The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low. An area of low pressure is expected to bring rain to the area tonight into Saturday morning. In the higher elevations of northeast Georgia, from Amicalola Falls to Hiawassee, periods of light freezing rain will occur tonight as temperatures drop to around 32 degrees. Less than a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is anticipated for most of these areas, but the highest elevations could see up to two tenths of an inch. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from late this evening through Saturday morning. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday... Lingering light freezing rain is possible across the higher elevations of northeast Georgia early Saturday, otherwise drier conditions are expected by Saturday afternoon and evening. A stronger storm system is expected to impact the region late Monday through Tuesday night. The potential for heavy rainfall, strong winds, and even strong to severe thunderstorms across parts of central Georgia exists. In the colder air wrapping around the system, rain could briefly change over to snow showers before ending across far north Georgia. Continue to stay tuned for more details on this system early next week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected through tonight. $$
