Surf heights rapidly build this afternoon and into tonight as southeastery flow increases. A high risk of rip currents is expected at all area beaches and a high surf advisory is in effect as surf heights increase to 5 to 8 feet. Widespread showers and storms are expected Christmas Eve into Christmas Day. Rain begins to move out Christmas afternoon and winds quickly subside. Surf heights will begin to drop in the evening, but a high rip current risk will possibly remain through Tuesday with 2 to 4 feet surf heights lingering.
