...TROPICAL DISTURBANCE TO BRING HEAVY RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS TO 
POHNPEI...

A tropical disturbance, known as JTWC's Invest 98W, is centered near
7N157E in Pohnpei State. It is expected to move slowly over the 
area the next few days.

Showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rainfal, are over 
Pohnpei this afternoon and will continue to form over that area the 
next few days.

Model estimates give the possibility for rainfall totals of 3 to 5 
inches through Saturday.

98W may also produce gusty winds across Pohnpei State Sunday and 
Monday. Winds and seas may become hazardous to small craft during 
that time period.

Residents should monitor local weather forecasts and conditions
closely the next couple of days as 98W remains in the vicinity. Be 
alert for ponding of water on roadways, rapidly rising water in 
creeks and drainage areas. Stay up to date with information from your
Weather Service Office in Pohnpei, and for information from local
