EVENING FOR LIGHTNING FOR MIDDLE TANANA VALLEY...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning, which is in effect from noon today to
10 PM AKDT this evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...North of the Chatanika River.

* TIMING...From noon today to 10 PM AKDT this evening.

* LIGHTNING ACTIVITY LEVEL...4.

* WINDS...South 5 mph or less.

* HUMIDITY...As low as 40 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the lower 70s.

* IMPACTS...Frequent lightning could cause new fire starts. 
  Thunderstorms will cause gusty and erratic winds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will
occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous
fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to
the public.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Red Flag Warning.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the lower 80s.

* IMPACTS...Frequent lightning could cause new fire starts. 
  Thunderstorms will cause gusty and erratic winds.

today through this evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...North of the Elliott Highway.

* TIMING...From noon AKDT today to 10 PM AKDT this evening.

* LIGHTNING ACTIVITY LEVEL...4.

* WINDS...South 5 mph or less.

* HUMIDITY...As low as 40 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 60s to near 70.

* IMPACTS...Frequent lightning may cause new fire starts. 
  Thunderstorms will cause gusty and erratic winds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that weather conditions could lead to
the potential for a Red Flag event in the near future. This watch
will remain in effect until it is upgraded to a Red Flag Warning
or that it is determined that the Red Flag event will not
develop.
