The activity is expected to end by midnight. Temperatures were lower today due to the passage of a cold front earlier in the day, and that trend will continue into Tuesday with highs near normal. The breezy winds will subside overnight. Dry conditions prevail on Tuesday. No updates. && .AVIATION...Areas of haze from local wildfires. Otherwise VFR. Surface winds: W-NW 10-20 kt with gusts to 25 kt until 18/04Z. Winds aloft at 10k feet MSL: W-SW 20-35 kt. && .PREV DISCUSSION... SHORT TERM...Tonight through Wednesday night...Pacific cold front has pushed the hot air mass to the east of our CWA but enough moisture and instability remain along the ID/NV for isolated thunderstorms until sunset. Breezy post-frontal west/northwest winds will continue elsewhere until sunset. Then clear and cooler tonight with lighter west winds continuing. Sunny Tuesday with temperatures near normal. A few afternoon cloud buildups in southern Twin Falls County but nothing more. Clear with normal temperatures Tuesday night. Next warming trend will start Wednesday as flow aloft acquires a more southerly component from the hot upper ridge to our south. That flow will also direct a weak monsoon moisture flow into Twin Falls County for a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening. LONG TERM...Thursday through Monday...Continued steady warming through Saturday as the weak monsoon surge Wednesday night shifts eastward and the upper ridge builds northward from Nevada in response to the next Pacific trough approaching the nw coast. Saturday may be as hot as yesterday, but Sunday and Monday look slightly cooler as the coastal trough moves inland. Models show a hint of monsoon moisture over Idaho Sunday and Monday but not enough to generate thunderstorms. && .BOI WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... ID...None.
