Temperatures at 10 AM were in the 50s. With the hazy skies remaining in place, clouds will also increase across the region this afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. The cold front is expected to move across the region late this afternoon through late this evening, bringing a period of showers and thunderstorms. A few of the storms may be strong, mainly across central Wisconsin, with the potential for strong, gusty winds, hail, and heavy downpours. Additional showers are possible across north-central late tonight as well. Wildfire smoke originating from Canada will reach the surface mainly behind the cold front this evening and continue into Friday morning. High temperatures today will range from the middle to upper 50s along the lakeshore, to the middle 60s to low 70s elsewhere.
