Most of the damage was limited to tree limb damage and tree uproots, although a few structures were damaged by falling limbs. The most highly rated damage was between Meriwether Road and Parkdale Road where a handful of snapped softwood trees warranted a peak wind speed of 88 mph, which rates this tornado as a very low end EF-1. A tornadic debris signature from the SHV radar was coincident with the majority of the track. .Tornado #2...Stanley in De Soto Parish, LA... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.20 miles Path Width /maximum/: 130 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/11/2023 Start Time: 07:55 AM CDT Start Location: 2 SSE Stanley / De Soto Parish / LA Start Lat/Lon: 31.9418 / -93.8942 End Date: 05/11/2023 End Time: 07:56 AM CDT End Location: 2 SSE Stanley / De Soto Parish / LA End Lat/Lon: 31.9422 / -93.891 Survey Summary: This short EF-1 surveyed tornado track was on both the west and east sides of Highway 763, a few miles south of Stanley. Throughout the short damage track there were softwood tree snaps and many softwood and hardwood tree uproots. An outbuilding and a single family residence on the west side of the road sustained roof damage by wind impacts alone. There was also very minor wind damage to a single wide mobile home on the east side of the road. Peak wind speed was rated at 100 mph. It is important to note that a tornadic debris signature observed from the SHV radar began with the surveyed damage, but also continued on for roughly another mile east of there. This suggests the tornado probably continued for some distance after the end of the surveyed path, although the NWS survey team had no ground access to survey points immediately to the east. A special thanks goes out the De Soto Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) for their assistance in locating damage. .Tornado #3...East of Colfax in Grant Parish, LA Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.4969 miles Path Width /maximum/: 80.0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/11/2023 Start Time: 08:03 AM CDT Start Location: 6 ESE Colfax / Grant Parish / LA Start Lat/Lon: 31.4826 / -92.6146 End Date: 05/11/2023 End Time: 08:03 AM CDT End Location: 6 ESE Colfax / Grant Parish / LA End Lat/Lon: 31.4898 / -92.6137 Summary: A tornado that was captured by video briefly touched down along US-71 and tracked parallel to Rigolette Rd.
