...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR SNOWMELT NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST/6 PM MDT 
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding on Chinle Wash caused by snowmelt in the Chuska 
  Mountains will continue through Tuesday. This is mainly due to 
  flow over spillways of Tsaile Dam and Wheatfields Dam, bringing 
  water down Canyon del Muerto and Coyote Wash.

* WHERE...Near Chinle in Apache County in northeast Arizona.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM MST Tuesday/600 PM MDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding in and adjacent to Chinle Wash and upstream 
  washes, creeks and streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 451 PM MST/551 PM MDT, Minor flooding is still occurring
    in and near Chinle Wash.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Chinle, Canyon De Chelly National Monument and portions of
    the Navajo Nation just downstream of Chinle.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Keep children away from Chinle Wash! Water levels can rise rapidly 
and sweep children away.

Stay away or be swept away! The banks of creeks and washes are 
unstable and unsafe during any flooding event.
