Further south, much more zonal midlevel flow has taken shape across the region. Locally at the surface, a weak cold front is approaching the area, and will drift southeastward throughout the day. Quiet weather expected today and tomorrow as ridging builds over the region. Southeasterly flow tomorrow will turn more southerly/southwesterly tomorrow night into Tuesday as lee troughing gets underway as a deep pacific northwest trough begins to dive south. Strong warm moist advection is expected late tomorrow through Tuesday morning which will result in elevated showers and storms across the area.
