.DISCUSSION...High pressure centered over the area will continue 
to support clear skies and above-normal temperatures today. No 
updates.

.AVIATION...VFR with areas of haze. Smoke layers causing reduced 
visibility, mainly in Baker County Oregon and the west central 
Idaho mountains. Surface winds: variable 10 kt or less, except 
E-SE 10-20 kt with gusts to 25 kt in the Snake River Valley. Winds
aloft at 10k feet MSL: E-SE 10-20 kt.

.PREV DISCUSSION...
SHORT TERM...Today through Tuesday night...Continued clear
through the period with warm days and cool nights, with high 
pressure aloft directly over our CWA. Surface winds generally 
east or northeast but lighter than yesterday. Locally smoky 
near ongoing wildfires.

LONG TERM...Wednesday through Sunday...High pressure centered 
over Idaho will continue to bring above normal temperatures and 
dry conditions to the region through Friday. A significant pattern
change is on the horizon for Saturday as an impressive upper 
level trough will move into the Pacific Northwest from British 
Columbia. There is medium-high confidence based on consistent 
model agreement in valley rain and mountain snow, gusty winds, 
and cooler temperatures this weekend, especially in the northern 
reaches of our CWA. Snow levels could drop as low as 4000-5000 
feet MSL early Sunday, which would bring the first snow of the 
season to many high elevation areas in the Central Mountains.
