453 FXUS64 KMOB 020325 AFDMOB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Mobile AL 1025 PM CDT Mon Aug 1 2022 .NEAR TERM /Now Through Wednesday/...Not many changes to the forecast with respect to the near term through Wednesday. Expect a rinse and repeat of Monday for both Tuesday and Wednesday with showers and thunderstorms offshore during the overnight hours spreading inland mid to late morning and the afternoon/early evening hours. Storm coverage will once again be scattered to numerous with a few stronger storms capable of producing gusty winds, frequent lightning, and very heavy rainfall. Any locations that see training storms or stationary storms along remnant boundaries may experience some minor nuisance flooding issues. This is particularly the case in any low lying or urban areas, as well as areas that received copious amounts of rain on Monday. The upper level pattern keeps us rooted in southerly low to mid level flow helping to hold PWATs in the 2.0 to 2.4 inch range, keeping the heavy rain threat over the area the next couple days. Additionally, would not be surprised to see some patchy fog in spots across the region tonight given the rainfall that occurred during the day. Forecast highs are expected to top out in the upper 80's to lower 90's for Tuesday and Wednesday, with lows in the lower to middle 70's. Depending on convective coverage and how quickly convection moves inland, forecast highs may need minor adjustments up or down. A Moderate risk of rip currents continues tonight, becoming a low risk for Tuesday through Wednesday. MM/25 && .MOB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... AL...None. FL...None. MS...None.
