This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western and
north central Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

Record heat is expected today as temperatures reach the upper 90s
across the north and 100 to 109 across the south. A heat advisory 
is in effect across southwest into north central Nebraska. Very 
dry air in western Nebraska will combine with the extreme heat and
gusty winds to create critical fire weather conditions. Farther 
east, higher humidity will result in dangerous heat index values 
of 100 or greater. 

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday night. The severe threat 
appears low at this time.

Very dry air and gusty west winds will create near critical fire
weather conditions across western Nebraska on Wednesday.

Another round of extreme heat is possible at the end of the week
with widespread highs near or above 100.
