Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms that crossed through the island chain last night now reside just outside our waters along the Straits of Florida. A few nocturnal showers are diminishing just north of the Keys with activity getting an early start in south Florida and the Upper Keys where confluence is sparking development. Visible satellite confirms this observation with rows of cumulus streaming across the southeast Gulf and Bayside Gulf side waters towards the peninsula. The 12z KEY RAOB sounding depicts an average for this time of year PWAT value of 1.40 in. While less moist than yesterday, this pattern will allow for some development of showers that may cross the island chain later today. && .MARINE... No watches, warnings, or advisories are currently in effect for the Florida Keys coastal waters.Moderate breezes will continue to prevail over the marine zones this afternoon. Then breezes will turn northerly late tonight and freshen on Monday as high pressure extends across the southeastern United States. Breezes will peak and lull Tuesday through Thursday, tending higher after dark, and tending lower each afternoon. && .AVIATION... VFR conditions will prevail at both EYW and MTH today and into tonight. CAMs solutions point to shower development later this morning near both terminals resulting in the inclusion of VCSH for through the afternoon. Future amendments may be needed as the forecast updates. Surface winds will be out of the west at near 10 knots before veering to be out of the northwest later tonight. && .CLIMATE...
