Temperatures are in the low to mid 30s across the Midsouth. High clouds and light south wind should limit much additional cooling before sunrise. Zonal flow is in place across the Midsouth. Over the next 36 hours or so a ridge will strengthen over the western US and a positively tilted trough will track across the northern Plains into the Midwest. An associated cold front will approach the Midsouth early Sunday. Rain showers with embedded thunderstorms will overspread most of the Midsouth before noon Sunday. Strong or severe thunderstorms do not look likely. Most of the area can expect one quarter to one half of an inch of rainfall. Behind the front, some of the coldest temperatures of the Fall are expected early next week. High temperatures Monday should be in the 40s across much of the area with morning lows Tuesday in the low to middle 20s. Dry conditions are expected Monday and Tuesday with a chance of rain returning late Wednesday as another cold front approaches the area. Thanksgiving looks wet across the Midsouth.
