Weber && .PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 227 PM CST Wed Nov 10 2021/ SHORT TERM...This Afternoon through Tomorrow Night... Expect temperatures to tumble tonight as northerly winds continue in the wake of the cold front that pushed south this morning. While 700mb moisture fields suggest a few mid level clouds could prevent radiational cooling potential from being fully realized, light winds should let temperatures fall into the upper 20s to upper 30s. Despite the aforementioned 700mb moisture, no precipitation is expected as large scale descent occurs in the wake of the upper trough currently located over the Panhandles. Moving ahead to Thursday, as northwesterly flow aloft continues over the Plains, expect cooler temperatures across the CWA given the trend toward lower heights overall. Disturbance looks to rotate around an upper low located over the northern Coteau des Prairies, pushing another cold front southward through the Plains, with this feature arriving during the overnight hours. Overall moisture continues to look too meager for precipitation. Indeed, higher resolution medium term guidance including the NAM and the out reaches of the FV3 suggest precipitation with the front will remain to our east. Have thus continued to keep mentions out of the forecast. Ferguson LONG TERM... Temperatures on Friday will be about 5 to 10 degrees below normal behind the cold front. At this point it looks like skies will be cloud free behind this front. But, if low clouds do form behind the front, then temperatures may end up cooler. A northwest flow aloft between high pressure along the West Coast and low pressure near the Great Lakes will prevail into Monday of next week. Then the ridge along the west coast will start to break down and we will have more of a zonal flow aloft. Another dry cold front is expected to move through the Panhandles on Sunday which will keep highs generally in the 60's. High temperatures will warm up each day for Monday and Tuesday as the zonal flow aloft brings more of a mild Pacific flow inland across the western 2/3rds of the country. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
