718 FXUS61 KPBZ 071026 AFDPBZ Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA 526 AM EST Sun Nov 7 2021 .SYNOPSIS... Dry weather and warming temperature can be expected under high pressure for the first half of the new week. Rain returns with a late week cold front. && .NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... Made some adjustment to hourly temperature based on sfc obs and LAMP data. Previous...Sfc high pressure, under a weak trough aloft, should maintain dry and mostly sunny skies today. Seasonably cool high temperatures are expected. && .SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/... High pressure should remain across much of the Eastern CONUS through Tuesday, as an upper ridge builds across the region. This should result in continued dry weather and mostly clear skies, with gradually warming temperatures. A weak shortwave trough/sfc cold front, is expected to approach and cross the Great lakes/Upper Ohio Valley region Tuesday night as the upper ridge weakens and shifts SE. A lack of moisture should result in a dry FROPA, with just an increase in clouds. && .LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/... Weak ridging, ahead of an approaching Central CONUS trough, should maintain dry weather Wednesday. The trough, and its associated cold front, is expected to approach the region late Thursday, with increasing shower chances. This should continue Friday as the sfc front completes its passage. The upr trough is then expected to persist across the Ern CONUS through the weekend, with much cooler temperatures and scattered rain and snow showers. && .AVIATION /12Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/... VFR conditions and light wind will continue through the TAF period as high pressure remains in control. There is a small chance of brief visibility restriction due to valley/steam fog around sunrise, but confidence was too low for inclusion via TEMPO at this time. .Outlook... General restrictions due to precipitation may return by Thursday with the next low pressure system. && .PBZ WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... PA...None. OH...None. WV...None. && $$
