Some of these initial thunderstorms could contain large hail up to 1" in diameter and possibly strong wind gusts up towards 55 mph, mainly southwest of a line from David City to Lincoln to Beatrice through midnight. Additional thunderstorms are expected to overspread the region through the overnight period but are anticipated to remain below severe limits. The main hazard with overnight thunderstorms will be localized heavy rain. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Widespread non-severe thunderstorms with periods of heavy rainfall will continue through Wednesday before subsiding Wednesday evening. Total rainfall amounts are expected to vary from 0.75" across northeast Nebraska to up toward 1.50"-2.0" in southwest Iowa with isolated heavier amounts. Localized flash flooding is possible, especially across southwest Iowa where soils are already saturated. Strong northwest winds are expected Thursday across the entire area.
