The upper low now centered in central Illinois continues to make northern progress and will transition into an open trough tonight. This will finally bring the rain to an end in most of our area. This afternoon we are dealing with scattered showers across the eastern third of the area. So far, the highest amounts seen by MRMS has been around 0.5". These showers should die off this evening leaving behind partly cloudy skies, calm winds, and moist low levels. With all that being said, expect areas of fog, some of which will be dense. A couple isolated, brief showers are possible mainly along the plateau on Friday as the trough axis slides east of the area. Otherwise, ridging will begin to build into the area from the southwest with temperatures climbing tomorrow through Sunday. By the time Sunday gets here, highs for most of the area will be in the mid 80s. The area will be dry through at least Monday. A weakening surface front will pass through the area Monday night or early Tuesday which could bring a couple light showers. && .AVIATION... 06Z TAF DISCUSSION.
