Updated 18z Aviation Discussion. && .PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 1004 AM CDT Mon Sep 6 2021/ DISCUSSION... A beautiful day is expected for this Mid-South this Labor Day. Fog has dispersed this morning allowing for clear skies and current temperatures in the low 70s. Temperatures will increase this afternoon and areas across the Mid-South should see highs in the low to mid 80s. Only changes made to the forecast were to sky coverage and temperatures. Otherwise the rest of the forecast looks to be on track. Happy Labor Day! SWB PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 318 AM CDT Mon Sep 6 2021/ DISCUSSION... Frontal system that moved through the Mid-South on Sunday is just to the south of the area and will have some lingering clouds in the southern part of the forecast area. Also, this morning there are some locations with fog which will dissipate quickly after sunrise. At this time, fog is to "spotty" to put out an dense fog advisory, however, will watch it over then next couple of hours, as the fog has been varying in intensity quite a bit. The models agree on the general weather pattern with the an upper level ridge to the west and a large upper level trough to the east. The ridge will move toward the Mid-South by the end of the week. However, at the surface we have the frontal system that moved through on Monday which has essentially stalled just to the south of the area and will bring some rain chances in the afternoon though Tuesday for some locations in north Mississippi. However, a second frontal system will move through the area beginning Tuesday night into Wednesday and this front will push the "original" front even further south and thus a high pressure system will take hold over the Mid-South by the end of the week. Rain chances from the frontal system on Tuesday night/Wednesday do increase, yet it is very slight increase that won't even make wording into the zones. Temperatures this week will be near normal or slightly below with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in the 60s or upper 50s.
