437 FXUS64 KSJT 210530 AFDSJT Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service San Angelo TX 1230 AM CDT Sat Aug 21 2021 ...New AVIATION... .SHORT TERM... (This evening through Saturday) Issued at 215 PM CDT Fri Aug 20 2021 Thunderstorms have developed over and near the Davis Mountains area this afternoon. We will again have a chance for thunderstorms to move in and affect our western counties later this afternoon and evening. The main concerns with these storms would be locally heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and lightning. All high resolution models keep the convection on our western border or farther west tonight, so we're not expecting as much coverage as we ended up with last night. Lows tonight will be in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Tomorrow, temperatures will be warm, with highs in the mid to upper 90s, with no precipitation expected in the forecast area. && .LONG TERM... (Saturday night through next Friday) Issued at 241 PM CDT Fri Aug 20 2021 A much quieter weather pattern settles across the region for the long term portion of the forecast. Much of the chance for precipitation will be over. Expect temperatures to gradually warm through the next 7 days. && .AVIATION... Still appears there will be a brief window of MVFR cigs across the central and southern terminals shortly after sunrise, but have narrowed the window slightly on this forecast.
