...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North 
Carolina...

  French Broad River At Marshall affecting Madison County.

.Storm-total rainfall accumulations of 3-5" over Madison County
resulted in flash flooding and significant rises along Ivy Creek and 
the lower French Broad River from Marshall to Hot Springs.  The 
floodwave has peaked and the French Broad River is now receding, but 
it remains above critical levels and nuisance to Minor flooding is 
ongoing.  These river levels are producing scattered to extensive 
flooding of low-lying areas including low-water crossings, 
campgrounds, parks, and boat-access areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

...The Flood Warning is now in effect until late tomorrow morning...

The Flood Warning continues for
  the French Broad River At Marshall.
* Until late tomorrow morning.
* At 4:45 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 11.6 feet and steady.
* Minor Flood Stage is 8.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 6:30 PM EDT Tuesday was 11.4 feet, which occurred at 8:45 PM 
  EDT on Tuesday.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below Minor Flood Stage 
  later this morning and below Action/Advisory Stage by this evening.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, The river is close to the top of the 
  railroad tracks and starting to flood areas between Highway 70 and 
  the normal riverbank. Floodwaters may begin to reach buildings 
  along Back Street and on Blannahassett Island.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet, Moderate Flood Stage. Flooding along 
  Rollins Road and Hayes Run Road is continuing and worsening. Parts 
  of the town of Marshall is flooded.
