612 FNAK71 PAFC 172042 FWSAER Spot Forecast for Jacksina SAR...DOI/NPS National Weather Service Anchorage AK 1242 PM AKDT Tue Aug 17 2021 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 1300 AKDT on August 17. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...West to southwest low level flow is producing low clouds and visibility along the western slopes of the Wrangell Mountains. Conditions along the Nabesna Road southward to the SAR location should be quite a bit better due to position on the lee side of most of the mountains. In fact, would think VFR conditions prevail in the valley at SAR location, with low clouds/vis sitting in the mountains just to the west. Expect conditions to hold steady this afternoon and evening. Low level flow will shift to light northerly after midnight tonight, which will bring some lower conditions to the SAR area. These will linger through Tuesday morning, but then expect improving conditions region-wide through the day. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Cloudy (90-100 percent). Rain likely.
