The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  Chatham County in southeastern Georgia...
  Effingham County in southeastern Georgia...
  Beaufort County in southeastern South Carolina...
  Jasper County in southeastern South Carolina...

* Until 600 PM EDT.

* At 404 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to 
  thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Pooler, Bluffton, Bellinger Hill Area, Hutchinson Island, Downtown 
  Savannah, Savannah International Airport, Godley Station, Midtown 
  Savannah, Hunter Army Airfield, I-16/I-95 Interchange, Jasper, 
  Rincon, Garden City, Port Wentworth, Hardeeville, Thunderbolt, 
  Pritchardville, Purysburgh and Monteith.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the 
area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Heavy rain in Downtown Savannah will result in nuisance flooding of 
low-lying areas. Slow down when traveling and allow extra distance 
between you and the vehicle ahead. Do not drive into water of 
unknown depth.
