Elevated to critical fire weather danger will exist for areas west of the Caprock Escarpment this afternoon and evening. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the extreme southwestern Texas Panhandle and central South Plains through 10 PM CDT. A Fire Danger Statement is also in effect for the southern and eastern South Plains through 10 PM CDT. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will develop across the extreme southern Texas Panhandle, and the northern South and Rolling Plains tomorrow afternoon behind the cold front. A conditional threat for hail up to one inch in diameter will be possible in the strongest storms in addition to locally heavy rain. An active weather pattern may be in store for next weekend with a risk of critical fire weather conditions and or strong to severe thunderstorms. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
