A large and broad upper ridge located mostly over the central states amplifies while shifting into the eastern states ahead of a western states upper trof. A surface ridge over the eastern states becomes oriented east-west along the northern Gulf coast states resulting in a return flow becoming established over the forecast area on Monday which continues into Tuesday. While this will gradually bring improving deep layer moisture to the area (and a warming trend), it will not be sufficient to support considering pops.
