...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING THROUGH 
WEDNESDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of north central Georgia...
  northeast Georgia and northwest Georgia, including the following 
  areas, in north central Georgia, Cherokee, Cobb, Dawson, Fannin, 
  Forsyth, Gilmer, Hall, Lumpkin, North Fulton, Pickens and Union. 
  In northeast Georgia, Towns and White. In northwest Georgia, 
  Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, 
  Paulding, Polk, Walker and Whitfield.

* From 8 PM EDT this evening through Wednesday evening

* Rain, heavy at times, will return to north Georgia overnight 
  tonight through the day Wednesday. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 
  inches are expected with locally higher amounts to 2.5 inches. 
  Persisting saturated soils and high streamflows, combined with 
  these forecast rainfall amounts, will keep the risk of flash 
  flooding high through Wednesday.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to 
Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You 
should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should 
Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
