The Flash Flood Watch continues for * Portions of north Georgia, including the following areas, in north central Georgia, Cherokee, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Pickens and Union. In northeast Georgia, Towns and White. In northwest Georgia, Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Polk, Walker and Whitfield. * Until 8 AM EDT Friday * Periods of heavy rainfall will continue to affect portions of north Georgia tonight. Total rainfall so far has been estimated around 1 to 3 inches with locally higher near 5 inches. An additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is possible through tonight. This additional rainfall on top of heavy rainfall amounts that have already fallen will more easily allow for runoff and flash flooding. * Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks and inundate fields, roads, and property. Roads may be closed. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. && $$
