Tonight, light winds will allow for efficient radiational cooling with temperatures falling into the upper 30s to low 40s across Deep South Texas. Sunday, southerly winds return as high pressure moves eastward with temperatures warming into the low to mid 70s under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will not be as cold Sunday night with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. LONG TERM (Monday through Saturday): A weak, 500 mb shortwave trough axis will swing overhead Sunday night with mid-level ridging building into the area Monday into Tuesday. At the surface, high pressure will slide farther east across the northern Gulf of Mexico. A warming trend will ensue from Monday through Wednesday as southeast to south flow develops. Above normal temperatures will prevail from Sunday night through Wednesday. Low temperatures Sunday night will generally fall into the mid to upper 40s, except for the 50s near the coast. High temperatures will generally warm into the mid to upper 70s to around 80 degrees each afternoon Monday through Wednesday. Lows Monday night will fall into the upper 40s to the lower to mid 50s. The next mid-level shortwave trough/low will move into the Four Corners region on Tuesday and will then eject into the High Plains Tuesday night and Wednesday, resulting in pressure falls over Oklahoma and North Texas. This will result in moderate to breezy southeast winds Tuesday night into Wednesday morning across deep South Texas and the lower RGV. Low temperatures on Tuesday night will drop into the 50s to around 60. Ample low-level moisture may support a few streamer showers along the coast late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. A slight chance to low end chance of rain will be possible across the eastern sections of the CWA on Wednesday afternoon as the front moves closer. The 500 mb trough axis is expected to move overhead with the associated surface cold front pushing through deep South Texas late Wednesday night to early Thursday morning. Drier air will filter into the region in the wake of the front Thursday into Friday with clearing skies. Near normal temperatures will occur Thursday through Saturday. MARINE: Now through Sunday Night): Marine conditions will continue to improve today as northerly winds begin to decrease. High pressure will settle over the Gulf tonight into Sunday with southerly winds returning and favorable marine conditions expected. Monday through Thursday Night...Light winds and low to moderate seas will be the rule Monday through Wednesday. A weak front will arrive Wednesday night, bringing stronger north winds and higher seas to the marine areas. Small craft will need to exercise caution Wednesday night into Thursday. Lighter winds and lower seas will return Thursday night. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
