Clear and dry conditions are expected through Sunday, winds will be light and variable. Surface high pressure will be situated directly above the region Sunday morning positioning Sunday morning lows to be only a few degrees warmer than Saturday morning. Expect overnight lows on Sunday to be in the mid to upper 20s away from the Gulf Coast and in the lower 30s near the coast. Daytime highs today will struggle to reach 50 across the region. .SHORT TERM [Sunday Through Monday]... In the upper levels, nearly zonal flow will be over the region. At the surface, high pressure will be over the Southeast until a very weak cold front approaches the northernmost half of the region on Monday afternoon. POPs will be near zero this period but the weak front may bring some clouds on Monday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s on Sunday. On Monday, highs will be a bit warmer in the 60s. Lows will be in the 30s Sunday night. .LONG TERM [Monday Night Through Saturday]... In the upper levels, nearly zonal flow or slight ridging will be over the region until a trough approaches Wednesday night. At the surface, high pressure will be over the Southeast until a cold front approaches Wednesday night into Thursday. This system appears to be another high shear, low instability event. Severe storms cannot be ruled out. The best chance for rain and thunderstorms is Wednesday night and Thursday. Highs will be mainly in the 60s. Lows will be mainly in the 30s and 40s. && .AVIATION... [Through 06Z Sunday] VFR conditions are expected to prevail through the period with clear skies and light winds. && .MARINE... Winds are decreasing and the Small Craft Advisory has been allowed to expire. Seas will continue to decrease today. Light northerly winds will become easterly on Sunday. Easterly winds will begin to increase on Tuesday. By Wednesday increasing winds will become southerly ahead of the next low pressure system. Dry weather is expected through early next week. && .FIRE WEATHER... Low dispersions are forecast this weekend across the Tri-State region.
