122 FXUS62 KMLB 111533 AFDMLB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Melbourne FL 1033 AM EST Fri Dec 11 2020 .DISCUSSION... Cloud deck southeast of the I-4 corridor is gradually eroding this morning, with mostly to partly sunny skies expected into the afternoon. High pressure across the area will shift NE, with inverted trough off the east central FL coast breaking down into the afternoon. This will allow sfc winds to become more easterly and remain relatively light around 5 to 10 mph. Slow warming trend continues, with afternoon highs expected to be closer to normal today, in the low 70s. A gradual moistening of the airmass will begin today with low level winds out of the southeast. However, it will still remain quite dry (PW values less than an inch), and rain chances remain out of the forecast. && .AVIATION...VFR conditions expected, with cloud deck around 5-6kft southeast of I-4 eroding into late morning/early afternoon. May see some patchy fog develop across the far interior, northwest of the I-4 corridor, late tonight and toward daybreak Saturday, but for now will keep any vis reductions out of the TAFs. && .MARINE...Favorable boating conditions expected. Inverted trough off the coast is leading to a N/NW flow up to 5-10 knots near the coast and E/SE flow farther offshore. This trough will weaken, with winds becoming more E/SE across the waters this afternoon, with speeds remaining around 5-10 knots or less in some areas. Seas will range from 1-2 feet. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
