Easterly winds will start to increase a little before sunset across the Otero Mesa, and portions of El Paso, Hudspeth, and southern Dona Ana Counties. Expect the strongest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph to occur generally between 7pm this evening and 3am Monday morning. Even stronger gusts up to 55 mph will be likely along the western slopes of area mountains. This will include west El Paso, east Las Cruces, and the Hueco Tanks area where a Wind Advisory is in effect. These wind gusts will blow around loose unsecured objects, knock down tree limbs, and create hazardous driving conditions. Patchy blowing dust will also be possible. Winds should begin to subside around sunrise Monday morning and become light by mid day. The Lordsburg area will keep some gustiness around through the afternoon. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday Low temperatures will drop below freezing for most locations each night. Be sure to remember to protect your pets, pipes, and plants from the frigid cold.
