.DISCUSSION...
Currently - A powerful ~1038 mb high centered over the mid
Atlantic states continues to drive strong northeasterly breezes 
across the Keys and surrounding waters. A Gale Warning and Wind
Advisory remains in effect.  Lower level ridging is aligned over 
the south with ample dry air above 700 mb. This evenings soundings
indicated dry air down to around 825 mb at local sites, however 
Key West did have a moist layer right around 700 mb. There is 
enough room for low topped showers which have largely remained 
across the Florida Straits and Hawk Channel.

Short Term Update - High pressure will remain fairly steady as it
gradually elongates out into the Atlantic overnight. Winds will
remain strong out of the northeast with perhaps a slight downward
trend beginning late overnight. Satellite imagery suggests skies
will remain a mix of partly to mostly cloudy due to fracturing
sheets of stratocumulus coming in from the northeast and a nearby
zone of low level lift generating stratocumulus nearer the Keys.
Shower activity should remain weak and over the waters south of
the island chain.

.MARINE...
Strong high pressure will remain over the mid Atlantic states and
continue to drive strong northeasterly breezes across Keys waters
through the overnight period. A Gale Warning will remain in effect
for all Keys waters aside from the Florida bay, where an Advisory
is in place. Winds may begin a slight down trend late overnight.
The decrease in winds will take a few days. The Gale Warning may
be lowered by morning, but it will take until late Saturday before
the ensuing Advisories begin to be pared back.

.AVIATION...
VFR conditions will prevail at the island terminals through the
overnight. Winds will remain strong and gusty out of the
northeast. This will result in some crosswind component at our
east/west runways.
