Issued at 253 PM CST Sun Nov 15 2020 Strong westerly winds will continue through the afternoon into the evening. These winds will finally let up through the first half of the overnight, before another round of winds increases Monday morning. Dry weather will arrive across the entire region tonight, lingering throughout the upcoming week. Temperatures will continue to fluctuate over the next few days before increasing late week. && .SHORT TERM...(This evening through Monday) ISSUED AT 253 PM CST Sun Nov 15 2020 The backdoor side of the Low pressure system, and the associated trof is beginning to exit the Midwest. This has taken all precipitation out of the region, while also beginning to shift clouds east. Clearing skies will continue, as well as decreasing winds through the evening and overnight. The Wind Advisory will continue through the 00z/6pm timeframe as scheduled, due to winds still gusting upwards of 45 mph in some locations currently. As dry weather moves back into the region, this will be the trend over the next several days. Temperatures will slightly warm again Monday as southerly to southwesterly winds increase through the morning into the afternoon. Some gusts are expected to push 35 mph again through the afternoon. && .LONG TERM...(Monday night through Sunday) ISSUED AT 253 PM CST Sun Nov 15 2020 Heading through the upcoming week, dry weather prevails even though a couple frontal systems push through the region. The first cold front will slip through Monday night into Tuesday, but being dry...this will cool temps into Tuesday. However, High pressure will dominate the region through mid-week, allowing for the return of southerly winds and warmer temperatures. This trend continues through the second half of the week and into the start of next weekend. The upper level breaks back down into next weekend, as another Low pressure system and trof drop through the central Plains and enter the Midwest. This will bring the next chance of showers to the region, which appear to develop during the latter portion of next weekend. && .AVIATION...(For the 18Z TAFS through 18Z Monday afternoon) Issued at 1130 AM CST Sun Nov 15 2020 Ceilings are beginning to break across the region, as the Low pressure trof starts pushes rapidly eastward. MVFR conditions will persist through eastern Illinois into the early afternoon, while VFR conditions and clearing skies will hold throughout the afternoon. Main threat this afternoon will be continued gusty winds across the region...upwards of 40-50 mph, as pressure gradients remain elevated in the low levels.
