A weak cold front will move across the Midsouth late Thursday ahead of what is left of Hurricane Delta. Clouds rain associated with Delta, as well as a drier air mass behind the cold front will result in cooler, near normal temperatures. Near to slightly above normal temperatures are expected for the remainder of the forecast period. Expect Highs mostly in the 70s and lows in the 60s. The impact in the Midsouth from what is left of Hurricane Delta is still highly uncertain, especially when it comes to exact timing and location of impact. However, heavy rain and gusty wind are expected for portions of the Midsouth, most likely across North Mississippi and West Tennessee based on the current National Hurricane Center forecast track. The latest forecast rain totals have decreased slightly, but 2.5 to 4.5 inches looks likely right now across much of North Mississippi and West Tennessee, tapering off quickly to the West. A wind advisory for sustained winds over 25mph will likely be needed for portions of North Mississippi and possibly West Tennessee Saturday into early Sunday. Wind gusts may exceed 35mph.
