.DISCUSSION...
Red Flag Warning remains in effect through the rest of today for East
Central New Mexico focusing through the Clines Corners area where
westerly winds are the strongest. A Fire Weather Watch has been
hoisted for the Central Highlands near Clines Corners again for
Sunday afternoon. Elevated to critical fire weather will also be
present Sunday afternoon through much of western, central, and 
southeastern NM, however coverage and duration is in question.
Meanwhile, cooler temperatures reach northeastern NM Sunday behind a
weak backdoor front. A reinforcing backdoor cold front surges 
through eastern New Mexico Sunday night bringing strong winds and 
much colder temperatures, reaching central and western New Mexico 
late Sunday night through Monday morning. Only a light wintry mix of 
precipitation is expected along the eastern slopes of the Sangre de 
Cristo Mountains down to Raton Pass Sunday night. Conditions clear 
out and warm up through the rest of the week with a brief cool down 
through the eastern plains Thursday.
