467 FXUS64 KCRP 191639 CCA AFDCRP Area Forecast Discussion...CORRECTED National Weather Service Corpus Christi TX 1139 AM CDT Sat Sep 19 2020 .DISCUSSION...*** Corrected for timing of onset of Tropical Storm winds to Sunday evening. *** Tropical Storm Beta still affected by shear this morning but convection has strengthened near the center of circulation again late this morning. Beta now moving northwest and movement is expected to become more westerly as the mid level ridge stays over the southern plains. There is still considerable uncertainty with regards to whether Beta will reach hurricane strength as it moves northwest Sunday night into Monday. Tropical storm force winds likely will reach the coast Sunday evening. Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for coastal counties north of Port Aransas. But with uncertainty involved, kept the Hurricane Watch in effect for this area as well. Adjusted Tropical Storm Warning to include inland portions of Refugio and Calhoun Counties. For today, mild weather in store with less humidity and moderate north winds. Could see some isolated showers or thunderstorms affect the immediate coast late this afternoon. && .MARINE... The Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the southern bays and southern Gulf waters at this time.
