There are some clouds passing over portions of northern Iowa causing the sunshine to be filtered, but conditions are dry. Winds are light and from the southwest. The temperature trend today through Sunday will be upward with highs about 5 to 10 degrees higher than yesterday in the 80s. Conditions will remain dry during the day on Saturday as the humidity begins to rise over portions of the state with highs ranging from the low 80s over eastern Iowa to the low 90s over western Iowa. Thunderstorms are expected to develop over the region and track from southern Minnesota southeastward into portions of north central into eastern Iowa Saturday night into Sunday morning. These storms may be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts and large hail possible so if you have outdoor plans Saturday night into early Sunday morning you will want to stay in tune with the weather. One final hot day is expected on Sunday with highs in the upper 80s to upper 90s across the state. Then, a pattern change is anticipated with wetter conditions early next week with much cooler air by Tuesday into Wednesday. $$ Ansorge
