Updated for 00Z Aviation Discussion && .PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 247 PM CDT Thu Aug 6 2020/ DISCUSSION... Skies remain mostly sunny across the Mid-South this afternoon with temperatures mainly in the 80s. A large area of high pressure covers much of the Great Lakes region at this time. A warm front currently extends across central Oklahoma and into east Texas. Both weather systems will remain nearly stationary tonight allowing for one more night of dry weather and below normal temperatures. Lows Friday morning will be in the mid to upper 60s across much of the Mid-South. The warm front will start to move east on Friday reaching far western sections of Arkansas by early Saturday morning. Dry weather will continue for Friday and Friday night. Warmer air will start to move into the region on Friday with highs in the mid 80s to lower 90s. Temperatures will not be as cool Friday night with lows Saturday morning in the mid 60s to lower 70s. On Saturday, the warm front will move slowly east across Arkansas reaching eastern sections of the state by early Sunday morning. Saturday will once again be dry but temperatures will return back to more typical summer readings with highs in the low to mid 90s. A few locations across the Mid-South will see Heat Index reach or exceed 100 degrees on Saturday. The warm front will move through the region on Sunday before weakening and falling apart Sunday night. The front may trigger a couple of thunderstorms across eastern portions of the Mid-South during the afternoon hours. High pressure will briefly build into Sunday night with dry weather for Sunday night and Monday morning. The remainder of the forecast period will see a frontal boundary stall out across the Ohio Valley and into the central Plains region. The front will be close enough to produce thunderstorms ahead of it which will move across the Mid-South anytime from Monday afternoon through next Thursday. Temperatures will remain at or slight above normal during this time. ARS && .AVIATION... /00z TAFs/ VFR conditions continue through the period. Cu field has gradually started to dissipate across the area this evening. Latest GOES satellite imagery indicates some high cirrus just to west. Light NE winds will prevail overnight with winds becoming more easterly during the day tomorrow. Not confident enough to mention possible light BR at TUP/MKL. Thinking high cirrus may inhibit the potential. Will continue to monitor and will amend if needed. 17 && .MEG WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... AR...None. MO...None. MS...None. TN...None. && $$
