Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue to develop this afternoon across east central Florida. Light steering flow will lead to outflow driven propagation, becoming more erratic through the afternoon. Main threats with any storms will be cloud to ground lightning, heavy downpours, and gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph. Move indoors if you see a flash or hear thunder. Anyone with outdoor activities should have a plan to get to shelter quickly if a storm approaches. .FLOOD IMPACT... Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches will be possible in some locations due to slow moving or training storms. This could cause temporary poor drainage flooding of local roads, urban and other poorly drained, low lying areas. This is especially true in areas that have received torrential amounts of rainfall recently, such as metro Orlando and coastal Martin County. Additional heavy showers may cross the coast again tonight in Martin county additional amounts up to an inch will be possible. Never attempt to drive across water covered roadways. Turn around, don't drown. .RIP CURRENT IMPACT... There will be a moderate threat of rip currents at area beaches today. While rip currents will be present all day, the risk is highest during the hours surrounding low tide this evening. Always swim within sight of a lifeguard. .MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT... Isolated to scattered thunderstorms that develop this afternoon will be capable of producing wind gusts of 34 knots across inland lakes, the intracoastal waters, and Atlantic waters. Mariners should seek safe harbor when storms threaten. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms expected into early next week. Lightning will continue to be a threat, as well as heavy rainfall. A moderate risk of rip currents will continue through at least Monday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
