454 FXUS64 KOHX 171407 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 907 AM CDT Fri Apr 17 2020 .UPDATE... FOR MORNING DISCUSSION. && .DISCUSSION... It's pretty quiet across Middle TN at update time this morning. Mostly sunny skies are being seen by most however, things will slowly start changing this afternoon as a weak front approaches from the west. Clouds will start to increase, especially as we get into the evening hours, but of bigger note, the surface pressure gradient will begin to tighten across the area. This means gusty winds this afternoon and evening. Look for southerly winds to begin picking up late this morning and we should start seeing 15-20 mph with gusts of 30-35 mph by early this afternoon. As I mentioned, this is a fairly weak front approaching. The bulk of the activity should be just rain, but a rumble of thunder won't be out of the question this evening. Rainfall totals are expected to be less than 0.50" for everyone and the rain should be off the Plateau by daybreak Saturday. && .AVIATION... 12Z TAF DISCUSSION. VFR conditions are expected through today but degrading conditions can be expected tonight as a cold front passes. Showers will develop CKV vicinity late today, then overspread the area tonight...driving CIGs and VSBYs down. LLJet already cranked up and that will cause some wind shear this morning, with strong/gusty winds kicking in mid-morning. South southwest winds likely to gust to around 35 mph most of the day. && .OHX WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... NONE. && $$ DISCUSSION......Unger AVIATION........07
