030 FXUS64 KLCH 272201 AFDLCH Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Lake Charles LA 401 PM CST Thu Feb 27 2020 .DISCUSSION... High pressure has settled into the region last night and with clear skies and light winds this morning... temperatures started out in the upper 20s around AEX with freezing temperatures as far south as LCH and BPT. But temperatures have rebounded nicely with mid to upper 50s this afternoon as winds have been relatively light. Dew points have been on the increase as high pressure has moved a bit further to the east today. Tonight... skies will be clear and the winds will become light allowing for excellent radiational cooling. Temperatures will be warmer as the dew points have come up a bit. This warming trend will continue into Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be a excellent day to be outside as temperatures will reach near 70 for afternoon highs. Sunday will see clouds moving into the region during the morning hours with the chance of a few showers during the afternoon/ evening hours. By Monday the high pressure will be well of the Jacksonville coast and moving deeper into the Atlantic as a cold front drops into central Oklahoma. This next front slows as there is no real push in the atmosphere until an upper lvl trof to the west begins to move into west Texas on Tuesday. There will be a chance that a few storms could become severe ahead of the next system with the best potential in cntrl Louisiana. This front is prog to move to the south central Louisiana coast around daybreak on Wednesday morning.
