The National Weather Service in Pendleton Oregon has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams for...
  Rain and Snowmelt in...
  Central Union County in northeastern Oregon...

* Until 1045 PM PST Friday.

* At 1041 PM PST, OR244 is closed between milepost 35 and 47 due to 
  flooding and rock slides. Hunter road outside of La Grande is 
  closed due to flooding. The public is reporting water over the 
  road between Elgin and Summerville Junction. 
  
  More rain and snowmelt will cause additional flooding into Friday. 

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  La Grande, Union, Elgin, Island City, Cove, Imbler and Summerville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
