Conditions varied from mostly clear and cold northwest to cloudy southeast with predawn temperatures from the just above or below zero northwest to near 30 southeast. Winds were brisk from the north at 10 to 20 mph dropping wind chills into the single digits and teens below zero from the Des Moines metro north and west. The system has yet to fully exit the region however with additional snows anticipated later today from Missouri across southeast Iowa into Illinois and Wisconsin where several more inches may fall. This will essentially be the weather story across the Midwest this week with more snow in the forecast for Iowa and some adjacent states Sunday afternoon and evening, Monday Night into early Tuesday, and again around Wednesday. This will be followed by a push of colder temperatures to end the work week as well. $$ Small
