080 FXUS63 KICT 062348 AFDICT Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Wichita KS 548 PM CST Fri Dec 6 2019 .SHORT TERM...(This evening through Monday night) Issued at 124 PM CST Fri Dec 6 2019 As high pressure translates slowly eastward across the Middle Mississippi Valley and into the Ohio Valley area tonight, light southerly winds will return from west to east across Kansas. Areas along the Flint Hills and eastward will see abundant radiational cooling and perhaps some patchy shallow ground fog in low-lying areas, but fog and low stratus will not be nearly as widespread as it was the previous night across the high plains region. Sat-Sun...temperatures will quickly moderate on Sat with rising heights/increasing thickness and breezy southerly winds returning to the area. A progressive west to east mid/upper flow is progged with seasonably mild temperatures persisting into Sunday with highs in the mid 50s for most areas. A progressive shortwave trough is progged to move eastward across the area late Sun into early Mon driving a cold front south while ushering in breezy northwest winds and below normal temperatures as we start the new work week.
