(Through Late Thursday Afternoon) Issued at 308 AM CST Wed Dec 4 2019 Surface ridge will continue to build over the region today with plenty of sunshine and west winds between 5 and 10 mph. So will see temperatures warm up into the upper 40s to mid 50s. By tonight, surface ridge will be moving off to the east with light and variable winds and temperatures only dropping into the low to mid 30s, about 5 to 10 degrees above normal. In the meantime, closed surface low and associated upper level shortwave in southern stream still progged to slide southeast through region on Thursday. Timing is a bit slower, so rain chances will stay over southwestern MO during the day Thursday with just increasing mid and high clouds. Confidence is low that the rain will make it any much further than I-70 corridor at this time. Rain will taper off early Friday morning as surface ridge builds back in.
