High temperatures are warm again today in the 60s with ample amounts of sunshine. A thin layer of high clouds is streaming across the northern half of the combined Panhandles as seen on satellite analysis. A shortwave moved across last night into this morning causing winds to be from the north today; although, winds remain light between 5 to 10 mph. Going into the overnight hours tonight, winds will become light and variable through the morning with low temperatures remaining above average in the upper 20s to mid 30s.Rutt && .LONG TERM...Wednesday through Tuesday... No significant changes have been made to the forecast. Still holding on to Thursday afternoon and evening as our only periods with chances for precipitation. Clouds increase on Wednesday, and then quickly clear from west to east during the late afternoon and evening. Vigorous shortwave trof still expected to pass through the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles Thursday afternoon and evening, although instability parameters look less favorable than they did 24 hours ago. Cold front moves through forecast area during the day. Slight chance pops retained Thursday evening in northeast sections while shortwave trof makes its exit. Cooler on Friday in the wake of the cold front with highs near or slightly below normal. Back to above-normal temperatures Saturday and Sunday as post-frontal surface high pressure ridge is displaced eastward and next lee trof sets up on Saturday. Warmup is tempered somewhat on Sunday as backdoor cold front moves into northeast sections. Cold front makes its move either Sunday night or Monday morning, pushing through all of forecast area, leading to near-normal highs for Monday.
