317 FXUS63 KEAX 130401 AFDEAX AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION National Weather Service Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO 1001 PM CST Tue Nov 12 2019 .Discussion... Issued at 334 PM CST TUE NOV 12 2019 No hazards are expected through this forecast period as it is expected to remain cool and dry. This afternoon a surface ridge of high pressure resides over the area which has limited mixing and with snow on the ground has keep temperatures 25 to 30 degrees below normal in the low to mid 20s. Tonight, the surface ridge will slide east and the pressure gradient will tighten across the area ahead of an approaching cold front. This will keep temperatures from falling to far off the highs from today with lows in the mid teens to low 20s. Wednesday, a cold front will move through the area late in the day however, temperatures will be able to warm some out ahead of it despite increased cloud cover with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s. The cold front will then pass through the area late tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night. Modest CAA behind the front Wednesday night into Thursday will keep temperatures a couple degrees cooler Thursday than Wednesday despite clearing skies. Another surface ridge of high pressure will move back into the area Thursday night and reside over the area through Friday night. Expect near normal highs Friday with highs in the mid 40s to lower 50s. Saturday the surface ridge will slide east with WAA allowing temperatures to rise into the upper 40s to mid 50s on Saturday. A weak cold front will pass through the area on Sunday bringing another dry cold frontal passage. Clouds will be on the increase however, which will cool temperatures off a few degrees with highs back in the mid 40s to lower 50s. By Monday, weak WAA will help temperatures rise back into the 50s. && .Aviation...(For the 06Z TAFS through 06Z Wednesday Night) Issued at 1000 PM CST TUE NOV 12 2019 Main concern overnight continues to be potential for LLWS and will keep that going through 15Z when deeper mixing begins allowing for stronger gusts to the surface. Winds will veer through the afternoon and evening ahead of a cold front that will move through the area late in the forecast. This front will shift winds to the north towards the end of this forecast. There may also be some lower clouds associated with the front. For now have just added some low VFR stratus. && .EAX WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... KS...NONE. MO...NONE. && $$ Discussion...73 Aviation...CDB
